Sketches of the dogs.

Here are a couple of sketches of the dogs that I did. Other than signing this with photoshop these are both completely hand drawn.

Sweetshop illustrations.

I was trying to think of something to draw tonight and I realized that I love sweet things so I made some pretty sweet characters. They live in Sally's Sweets. Click on the photos to see them larger. The illustrations are hand drawn and then filled in using photoshop.

Birthday card that I made for Josh's co-worker.

I just threw this together with different pieces of clip art but I thought it was funny. Josh's friend/co-worker is into metal rock music (I sound so old saying that). I wrote on the inside, "Cupcakes are so metal!" I wonder what Josh will write.

More Christmas card fun!

I messed with the Christmas cards I have been making in Photoshop and these are some that I have come up with.

I just scanned the hand drawn illustrations into the computer and filled the color in using Photoshop instead of doing that part by hand so that it looks completely smooth! :)

Coffee in Portland...

1) Heart. My friend Danni and I have discovered the cute little coffee shop called Heart. They roast their own coffee and you can get a cup of plain ole' joe for $1. The shop is super cute but not overly fancy. They don't really serve any food and they don't have many flavors... actually I think they only have two; plain or vanilla. They are located on the corner of Burnside and 22nd. Check out their website at Heartroasters.com.
2) Stumptown. This place is kind of famous. You may have read about a rabbit named Don frequenting Stumptown in a little book called Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. Due to popularity, there are multiple Stumptown locations around Portland. My favorite is the one on Belmont. Their coffee is always perfect and they always deliver some mean latte art when you have your coffee "for here". They also roast their own beans and you can find one of their many locations at StumptownCoffee.com.

3) Random Order. I have only been to random order once so far but my non-fat, caramel latte was perfect and there was a selection of pies taunting me from the pastry case. It was a pretty pricey establishment and people were a little too close for comfort due to lack of space but I definitely enjoyed the coffee. Mmm. RandomOrderCoffee.com.

If you have any coffee suggestions, please leave them in a comment!! I am always looking for a new place. :)

The first post!

Luckily, since no one is reading this bad boy yet I can post about the Christmas cards I am making without blowing the surprise. I just made NINE handmade Christmas cards. All of them are unique. I took some photos of them using Photobooth so the quality is pretty iffy but they're super-duper cute. Here are a few:
This is a cartoon of my dog, Jubilee. Get the pun?

I don't think you can tell but the color illustrated card is made up of all individual illustrations that have been drawn, cut out and then glued onto the card.

These are just a few. Maybe I will scan the rest at some point to give a better view.

I need to get better at updating the Nesting Blog. My New Years resolution will be to work on it! :)
